Program Description

Mission

100 years from now is a youth empowerment and educational program that aims to teach and equip our target population to build independent and sustainable community wealth.

Vision

To create the next generation of business professionals and entrepreneurs that understand the importance of building a self-sufficient business community.

100 Years From Now is an educational program that targets to serve and assist disenfranchised individuals and first-generation college students to progress through the academic pipeline from entering high school to post baccalaureate programs. The goal of 100 Years From Now is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from a program of postsecondary education. Additionally, our goal is to help students recognize and develop their potential to excel in the business community as business professionals and contributors to their community.

8 Weeks

100 Years From Now functions as an 8 week summer law boot camp where students are exposed to legal course work, projects on financial literacy, cultural history, economics and community building strategies, Internships and Enrichments.  Three of those weeks will be spent in an internship program where students will be able to apply the knowledge from the classroom to the real-world. This experiences will provide an opportunity to work on soft skills and hard skills needed in the workplace.

EnRichments

Our enrichments are educational based classes that are used to recognize, nurture, and develop the gifts and talents of all students.

The classes will address student interests, and broaden their  learning experience through disguised learning .

Internship

Our internship program is designed to enable students to advance their professional preparation through work experiences which complements the course work in the program.

The benefit of the internship experiences are: development of task skills in a specific functional area; diverse real-world organization-based experience in a work environment; development of interpersonal and professional skills in the work place; the opportunity to evaluate academic theory versus practice; and increased understanding of potential jobs and career opportunities.

Parent
University

Our goal is to educate parents on how to aid their student through the program while providing resources.

Parent University resources will include but are not limited to educational courses covering a broad range of topics such as, parenting skills, child development, learning modalities, intellectual development, and communication.

The aforementioned courses will not only help parents understand their  students personality and how to assist them through the program but we will also be able to encourage parents to be the most effective parent they can be!
